Counseling Post-Secondary Education
(≤ 30 hours)

We love options! Don’t you? In this module, you will explore the vast possibilities in education available to you after high school: colleges, universities, trade schools and so much more! Your knowledge will surely “Wow!” any high school counselor. Some of the topics we’ll discover are:
- How to complete college applications, what the admission process is, and what those pesky college entrance exams are all about.
- How to prepare for and receive accommodations on entrance exams
- “College days” and the most meaningful ways to participate.
- Where to begin and how to complete the FAFSA
- What financial aid opportunities are available to you (i.e. Pell grants, scholarships, ABLE accounts, etc..).
- What supports the Disability Services office can offer you.
- Job Corps and military options, and lots more.

- You will gain information about a variety of training options to prepare you for work after high school.
- You will be supported to identify the best post-secondary education options for you, based on your career choice.

We’ll teach you about your rights, responsibilities, and how to request accommodations or services and support during transition planning. You’ll also learn self-determination skills which promote your freedom to make decisions regarding your own life!
